Unfortunately for Utah, the desert climate there makes it perfect for land disposal of hazardous wastes. There's not a lot of rain, very few streams and rivers and no sources of potable groundwater in certain areas. Any RCRA or TSCA hazardous wastes removed from sites here in Seattle are trucked all the way down to the Clean Harbors Grassy Mountain facility in Clive, Utah (http://www.hazardouswaste.utah.gov/HWBranch/CFFSection/CommercialFederalFacilitiesSection.htm#CleanHarborsGrassy) because it's the nearest permitted disposal facility. We get way too much rain in Seattle to properly handle and dispose of those kinds of wastes locally. I hope that this group can do something to stop it from becomming an international dumping ground, since a large part of the desert is already used as a national dumping ground.
"this is war. every line is about who i don't wanna write about anymore. hope you come down with something they can't diagnose, don't have the cure for. holding on to your grudge. oh it's so hard to have someone to love. and keeping quiet is hard. 'cause you can't keep a secret if it never was a secret to start. at least pretend you didn't wanna get caught.."
